| 2. | Export to Japan Study Program Seattle | October 3rd & 10th 9am-5pm | A basic program for new exporters to explain market opportunities and how to do business in Japan. Specific focus will be given to the housing market to address design, construction, materials, distribution and marketing matters. | 3. | Japan Home Show Tokyo | November 11-14 | Catalog participation in the Washington State booth. Japan Home Show is an annual event attracting 110,000 visitors (90 percent industry specialists) and 280 exhibitors. It will be held at the Tokyo Intemational Exhibition Center (Big Site, Ariake) and coincide with the US-Japan Housing Conference (November 11-12) | Cost $350 | September 15 |
| 4. | Washington State Housing Trade Mission Nagoya, Shizuoka, Yokohama, Utsunomiya, Fukushima | November 17-21 | A four-hour seminar program presented by participating companies. Following the seminar presentations, companies will divide into smaller groups for a business card exchange and infomal discussions. Prior to the seminars some companies will be able to meet one-on-one with interested Japanese companies through prearranged meetings organized by CTED. | Cost $500-800 (depending on final number of participating companies) | September 15 |
| 5. | Kyuanghyang Housing Fair Seoul, Korea | Late Fedruary 1998 (specific dates to be announced) | A six day housing fair featuring the largest Korean housing industry companies and many foreign exhibitors. In 1997, Washington State was the largest group of foreign exhibitors at the show. Over 300,000 visitors attended the six day show in 1997. The Washington State pavilion will be 8-10 booths, but space at the show is extremely limited. An early deadline is being set to try to assure the organizer can accommodate our space requirements.
